‘Owning a home, back home’ – HDFC’s London Event celebrated a successful eighth edition with over 36 leading developers, including Hiranandani Developers, showcasing prime properties from all across India

LONDON/ MUMBAI, 12 JUNE 2015: Indian real estate continues to enjoy confidence of NRIs and PIOs, something that was apparent at HDFC’s India Homes Fair, London on May 30 and 31 this year.

“Stability in Indian real estate prices and favorable rupee movements are bringing back the NRIs in a big way to the real estate market,” said Niranjan Hiranandani, MD, Hiranandani Group.

The test of any property exhibition is in the number of walk-ins during the property expo which translate into serious enquiries and follow-ups post the event. At HDFC’s India Homes Fair, London which was held on 30 and 31 May, Hiranandani Developers were among the participants at the event. “In a period of ten days, we have serious enquiries and follow-ups for the properties we exhibited: Powai, Thane, Kandivli, Chennai and Panvel were the cities we showcased during the event,” said Niranjan Hiranandani.

For NRIs and PIOs wanting to own a home, back home in India, the Hiranandani Developers stall at the event was an opportunity to inquire about properties from India. The two-day event was a success story co-scripted by HDFC, which enjoys a strong presence in the UK since the last 10 years through its London branch. This was the 8th edition of HDFC’s property exhibition, and the walk-ins signified its popularity amongst NRIs and PIOs in London as well as other cities across the UK.

Terming the response as ‘good’, Niranjan Hiranandani said there were around 700 walk ins in the two days of the event. “The target group was mixed age group of young, working class, second generation and senior citizens,” he added. A large number of those who visited the Hiranandani stall at the event were interested in investments while expats were looking out for homes in India to return to. “The working class was looking for property which they could buy to shift back and settle in cities like Mumbai and Thane,” he added. Those working in the Information Technology sector and the Banking and Financial Services industry comprised a large segment of serious enquiries at the venue.

HDFC’s India Homes Fair, London was held for the eighth year in a row at a foreign location, showcasing its popularity amongst the NRI and PIO community in London and other cities abroad. From Hiranandani perspective, the event resulted in a good over-all response amidst positive sentiments.
